Conference COVID-19 Policy

We are excited to welcome you to Washington, D.C. for NSLA’s 2021 Annual Conference: Summer Changes Everything at The Mayflower Hotel. We have taken the highest measures to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for one of the most important, in-person convenings for our field since the pandemic. The Mayflower Hotel, Autograph Collection, is a historical destination in the Marriott Bonvoy® portfolio of hotels and offers an exemplary Commitment to Clean along with a touchless “Stay” option through the Marriott Bonvoy® Mobile App.

In accordance with the Mayor of the District of Columbia’s order 097, the NSLA 2021 Annual Conference will require that all participants wear masks indoors unless actively eating or drinking. Additionally all attendees are required to follow these safety guidelines:

  • NSLA requires that guests present their vaccination card or show a COVID test with a negative result dated on November 6, 2021. On the rare chance that you are unable to comply with either of these requirements, NSLA will have daily rapid testing available at the hotel.
  • NSLA will follow the current DC mask mandated which requires that all attendees wear facial masks covering both nose and mouth unless actively eating or drinking. There is one exception for our main stage speakers which is outlined below.
  • NSLA is currently sourcing to provide partitions between main stage speakers when/if needed. However, guests can rest assured that main stage speakers will be socially distant and are only allowed to take their masks off because we are creating a 6ft distance between the main stage and the first row of seating. For the breakout sessions, per the DC mandate presenters will be obligated to wear their masks while presenting.

NSLA reserves the right to ask any attendee identified as not complying with COVID safety protocols to leave the conference without refund.

Prior to our arrival, The Mayflower Hotel will conduct a deep cleaning of the meeting facilities of which we are occupying over 90% of the in house meeting space. NSLA is seriously thinking about you and overall wellness while we deliver a stellar educational experience.
