PLC Team Leader Esteban Olivares

Esteban Olivares has dedicated over 25 years to advancing student success through leadership in the public, nonprofit, and private sectors. Grounded in equity, innovation, and a deep understanding of higher education, nontraditional learning environments, and summer learning, he has designed programs that help learners navigate transitions and persist in college.

At Georgetown University, George Washington University, Landmark College, and the University of the District of Columbia, he led initiatives that boosted retention, strengthened advising, and expanded summer pre-college opportunities. Today, he partners with leading universities and nonprofits to develop scalable summer learning and life skills that reduce summer melt and increase college readiness. He also serves on national advisory groups and facilitates professional learning communities that bring practitioners together to share strategies, challenges, and solutions.
