The Early Learning Education PLC is designed to spark creativity and collaboration in exploring learning approaches and activities for Pre-K to 2nd grade children during the summer and out-of-school time experiences. This community is ideal for those passionate about nurturing a love of learning in young children and will offer opportunities to exchange ideas, leverage resources, and build a strong peer network. Participants will gain valuable tools and a sense of camaraderie to enhance their impact with this critical age group.
Supporting Pre-K to 2nd graders is essential, as they are at a stage where their curiosity is boundless and every moment of learning becomes an opportunity for growth. When young children have positive learning experiences, it lays the foundation for a lifelong love of learning and engagement with the world in meaningful, joyful ways.
Who Should Join the PLC?
Anyone who wants to help youth in PreK to 2nd grade develop a love of learning and help them find ways to play, grow and participate with peers.
Professionals who want to share and receive ideas, leverage resources, and who are interested in support and fellowship through a peer group. Leaders focused on early learning from school districts, state and local government agencies, cbo’s, youth development organizations, libraries, and corporate partners.
PLC Team Leader Sarah Landy
Sarah Landy was Senior Vice President of Production & Development at Nickelodeon Preschool, overseeing current series and legacy reboots. A 25-year Nickelodeon veteran, she served as the Executive in Charge for top-rated shows includingBlue’s Clues & You,Blaze and the Monster Machines,Bubble Guppies,The Fresh Beat Band, andThe Wonder Pets! Ms. Landy focused her career in television on leading the creation of compelling stories with educational curriculum and relatable characters for preschool audiences.She started off as an assistant onBlue’s Clues and later became the production and development manager for productions such asLazyTown, The Backyardigans, Jack’s Big Music Showa nd Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Friends continuing in that role as Director and Vice President before joining the leadership team for all Nickelodeon Preschool current series. She graduated from Skidmore College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology
