One requirement for the American Rescue funds (ARP) in education is that they are evidence or research based. Interventions specifically mentioned are summer enrichment and comprehensive afterschool opportunities and partnerships.

To provide guidance and best practices to schools and community groups to meet these requirements and to be impactful, Dr. Deborah Lowe Vandell and Terry Peterson, PhD, developed the attached national report and evidence base on both summers and afterschool. Terry serves as the Education Advisor at CS Mott Foundation, the National Board Chair of the Afterschool Alliance, and is a respected pioneer in the world of out-of-school time (OST) education.
